Scott Jonathan Peake
Scott Jonathan Peake, 9lb 4oz (4.2kg), arrived by the hand of God at 0937hrs, 24th April 2007. 5.5hr labour, straight forward breech birth (feet first) at Waikato Delivery Suite after a dash from home in the car somewhere around 0800hrs. God went before us, the consultant we needed was doing paperwork in her office, and opted to come in although was supposed to be somewhere else by the end of it all! Breech births are not the done thing, too many risks, but the other registrar that had promised his support was on as well, so was near if needed. Due to coming out feet first the lungs don't get squeezed out, so Scott was in shock for a bit and needed a little help due to fluid in his lungs, but all was fine, and he's happy and well although a little bruised. Katrina all in one piece, a little tired and "rearranged" but as Scott slept nearly all night she'll be out mowing the lawns in no time. Jeremy was a wonderful support, and is already a pro at juggling 2 kids. Josh is very gentle, quite happy with "Baby" being around and sharing cuddles in bed with us, he pats Scott very gently and talks about "Baby". Was very good for his Nana, (who kindly arrived at our house in a rush and cleaned up after us!) though very glad to have long cuddle with Mum at the hospital after lunch, and then played very well while waiting for us to be discharged at 4pm.
